Beaded "Happy Mother's Day!" Charm Bookmark Craft Kit
Nice product for a good price
We used this craft for a Children's Hospital benefit for the children's craft table. The children really enjoyed making the book mark. The only thing we changed was we replaced the cord with a different type of cord to string the beads. The cord provided is too hard to tie and work with. It was an easy, cheap fix and the kids really liked it. I would buy this product again.

cute, but requires help
I bought this for a cute Mother's Day activity for my students. The students seemed to enjoy them, but I did have to help each student with the string. Some kits came with really stiff plastic string, but others came with a more flexible fishing line type of string. The latter was definitely easier so I ended up throwing away some of the other kits. I also used regular fishing line for some.

Good Idea but not practical
There were materials that were missing for some of the bookmarks. The design was pleasant but putting the bead through the string and then on to the bookmark was difficult for kids to do by themselves.

Cute product, but not easy to knot!
We bought these for a Mother's Day craft for our Sunday School Children, ages 4-9 to do for Mother's Day 2009. The children were all able to string the beads just fine, but we all had a terrible time (adults included!) trying to knot the strechy string. It took us several tries and many knots!!! While trying, we would sometimes loose beads on the floor and have to restring. Overall, it is very cute, but I would have more adult help in completing it.

Prep work needed
I used it as a mother's day craft for 30 children ages 3-11. Hours of prep work were needed because I did all the beading for the younger children and glued the centers on the foam flowers for all the children before the activity. For the older children I also pre-tied the string on the bookmark (before the activity) and they did the beading and I tied the charm onto the end of the bookmark when each one was done. I used double knots on all ties and pulled the knots very tight. I didn't use any glue and the knots held just fine. So--a lot of prep work for me. However, once this prep work was done, the children did great and the projects were completed in about 20 minutes. I bought 48 kits and ended up (after cannibalizing some kits) with about 44 workable kits. Not bad, considering the price!

The bookmarks were very cute when completed. I bought them for my class to make. The string that came with it for the tassel/beads was very hard to tie on. It would not stay tied and was then very hard to string the beads onto. We had a lot of trouble with that part. The foam stickers to glue on were easy and it did look nice in the end. Adult supervision and help was needed though!

We did this for our older preschoolers for Mother's Day at church. I tied the knots and added a spot of glue on each knot as suggested. No problems with the knots coming untied. The kids enjoyed doing them. Very cute and easy for my 5 year olds.
Of the 12 I received, only one was missing the "Mom" charm.

Beads will be everywhere!!!
This is a cute project that turns out nice in the end, but be prepared to have beads everywhere! The stretchy cord does not tie well or stay tied. It comes loose, letting the beads go everywhere.
