Exactly what I was expecting I was really apprehensive about ordering these spindles based on other reviews, but I must say, I am very happy. While these spindles are not extremely large by any means, and true enough, the backside of the peppermint candy is NOT painted, the paint job on the front and the entire spindle is well done. Others also noted that they were not as vibrant as they expected. To me, they look exactly as you would expect the red and greens of Christmas to look. I was going with a more vintage themed decor this year and they certainly fit the bill. I have them sitting on my fireplace mantel in a grouping and they are lovely. Who sees the back of them? I guess if you were to use them in a centerpiece, it might be noticed, but otherwise, they are well worth being an addition to your decorations this year! December 7, 2012
