Christmas Weaving Ornament Craft Kit
Great project for 1st graders
As homeroom mom, we did this project with 28 1st grade boys and girls. I wanted something cute that the kids and parents would keep for years, and not too complicated or messy given the large number of children and varying abilities. THis was the perfect project. The children needed help tying the knots on the end of the strings, and some also with the weaving which was new to them. Both the boys and girls enjoyed it and they had a successful finished project. We had them use a sharpie to write their names and the year on the back (which also has a product number unfortunately). And we tied bows at the top to give it a more finished look, but they were fine without. I think we had five adults helping the kids and we let the kids each do a star, ball and tree. Not all the kids finished all three project, but they all really, really enjoyed. I think we had about an hour, maybe a little less.

great ornament for kids to make
I bought these for my 5 year olds to make for our teachers, day care providers and godparents. I buy a couple of ornaments every year from O.T. and this year the ornaments I bought were the best so far. My 5 yr olds (1 loves crafts, 1 doesn't) really enjoyed making these. I was surprised how large the wooden ornaments were and well painted. Placing the gems on was fun for them and they enjoyed "sewing" with the string. They loved making them and they could do most of it themselves. When you first start sewing you're not sure if there is enough string but there is more than enough! This was a great buy! My kids loved making them and they look nice (I can't wait to hang some on our tree). Completely recommend this ornament craft!

Nice Idea, Some Drawbacks
These ornaments are cute and fairly simple to assemble (I purchased them for first graders), but there are a few frustrations with how they arrived. The green tree pieces were not as nice as the red ornament and yellow star pieces. About a thrid of the trees (I bought 6 packages) had so much paint scratched off the surface that I didn't feel they looked good enough to use. This didn't seem to be an issue with the other styles. Also, many of the adhesive jewels were stuck inside the packaging because the paper covering the adhesive was off or partially off in the bag. I ended up peeling the papers the rest of the way off, realigning them, and repackaging the kits in zip-lock bags. Fortunately, the adhesive still worked well enough once assembled. Out of six packages, there were only 3 ornaments that were missing any pieces, but extra pieces are included with each unit (but not the largest red jewels, which we were missing one of). Overall, I am happy with how they turned out and, being wood, they make ornaments that seem a bit nicer than paper or foam projects, but the packaging and quality control left something to be desired.

Neat idea, not the greatest quality
I bought these for my daughter to make as Christmas presents for people. She just turned 4 and the difficulty level is just about right. It's good for fine motor skills while still being fun. I wouldn't buy it for any younger kids. The pieces are wooden, which is nice, but the quality is lacking. Some of the pieces aren't smooth and the "paint" on them isn't even, but that's not really noticeable. The string is sturdy and works well to thread through the holes, even though the edges of the holes are slightly rough. The worst part is the "stick-on" decorations. They do not stick at all. We have been using glue, otherwise they fall off. Pretty good for the money, overall, just expect to have to help a kid younger than 4 with all of it. Also, buy some glue for the decorations- do NOT rely on the peel and stick.

Really Cute Ornaments
I bought this for my son's kindergarten class to make & they loved it. The teacher said it was very entertaining & with just enough challenge to keep them interested. They make really cute ornaments.
