Color Your Own! "I Love You!" Canvases
only buy if you are prepared to prepare them
I own a creative childcare center. I tried these because real canvases are too expensive for preschooler projects. These are low quality which I expected, very loosely stretched cloth over wood strips, but worth the effort to get them ready to use. First I added more staples while tightening the cloth (not really canvas) a little. Then I wet them with hot water and dried them over heat to shrink the cloth. Then I painted over the hearts with a cheap white wall paint (a cheap alternative to gesso) to prep them for painting and dried them over heat again. This did not take as long as you might think, they dried quickly. When the children used them they stretched out a little but not too badly and the parents loved the finished artwork.
