I'm an avid geocacher and this is a terrific item to leave in a geocache as swag.

These are really cute and fun. My son is having a rock climbing birthday party and bought these for the gift bags.

Fun clip (not a real compass)
The kids liked these so much last year that we bought another set for party favors this year. I had originally planned to use them in a map game during a birthday party, then realized that the compasses don't point to North (or any other direction consistently). With the expectation that they're for decoration only, they were fine: fun, bright, and the kids enjoyed playing with the carabiner-style clip.

OK for younger kids
These are made of pretty thin plastic - so the clip is very week. More novelty than anything - if child/party guests over 6 years old spend a little more and get better quality

Clips kept breaking and compass fell out of a few. Waste of money really.

Gave these away for an explorer-themed VBS. The plastic clips make it functional; kids were wearing it on their belt loops and clipping it to other things. Kids were pulling out the clips rather than pushing them in, but thankfully didn't break.

Wow the scouts were excited to receive these but none of them wanted the pink or orange colors; not very color friendly for boys. Many of the clips were breaking within minutes of receiving the item but the compass was still intact.

Most of them worked. Inexpensive. Good value.
