exactly what I needed!
Just got my order and am excited for this project! The bottles are the perfect size for my kinder kids. I purchased a package of finger puppets and will glue them to the inside of the lid, the opalescent plastic glitter will make these snow globes perfect! The kids are going to LOVE it!

Silicone! It is the answer to the leaks.
It took five tries to get these snow globes right. Don't add baby oil to slow the glitter falling, as some sites recommend. It adheres to the trinket you have glued to the lid, covering it completely. I wanted to seal these shut so parents wouldn't curse me later when water and glitter got all over their floors. Glue gun: didn't work. Elmer's glue: leaked into the globe, clouding it. Krazy glue: not water-proof. But silicone? Perfect. My husband glued that thing shut with the silicone you use to caulk your shower, and tada! Also use it to glue your trinket to the lid. My Tinkerbell figurine fell off after a couple of days with the glue gun.

Attractive and functional
I bought this as a gift for my children's classrooms for a snow globe project. The teacher simply loved it.

So so product
I bought 24 of these and four of them were damaged. OTC immediately replaced them so that was good. I had already glued my plastic character onto every one of the lids so I could not retun them or I would have. Instead, I worked with them, putting in the water but they leaked. I tried five times and all five leaked, even with sealing them on the threads and on the outside of the lid. Well, I realized that if you put the glue on the inside of the lid, before the rim then it will hold and not leak. They are very cheap feeling but for my purpose, they worked once I got the glue where it needed to be.

Product Review
Our school PTO recently purchased this product for an Elves Workshop event at our elementary school. We ordered 156 Design your own snow globe jars. This product was a disaster. 80-90% of the snow globes leaked immediately when filled with water. The children were extremely disappointed. I do not recommend this product. However, Oriental Trading Company was very helpful when I called to report this to them. As a courtesy they placed a 10% off credit on our account for our next order.

Great!
These just arrived yesterday and I love them. They are the perfect size and shape. I filled it with water, shook it up and it did not leak! Left it overnight full of water (without glue) and it still did not leak. Of course I will glue it, but wanted to see how secure the cap was. ONE NOTE-the foam shapes I purchased do NOT float in the water. I do NOT recommend purchasing foam shapes for this project.

The kids loved it!
I bought this for my son's Halloween party at school. I wanted to make snow globes but the glass jars you find at supermarkets were way too big. Then I found this. I wasn't sure it was going to work or how the quality would be since there was no review.
In the end, it turned out great. Instead of foam decorations inside, I used glue gun and attached a finger puppet inside, had the kids throw in some rubber spiders and coarse glitter, put water, sealed it with glue gun and ta-dan!!!!
I tried four different glues but glue gun worked out best. I used normal tap water (not distilled water), but the water remains clear, the jar does not leak and the view is clear. I love the fact that you can make it stand in three different ways. Love the product! Just the right size!
