Pirate Treasure Boxes The children at VBS liked the boxes, but the younger hands had a hard time maneuvering the pieces into place. Sometimes they tore. August 25, 2009

Not exactly what I expected Even though in the picture they show white in the background unfolded, I thought that was just the interior of the box and that they would be brown as it shows in the finished product. They are white, just in case you are expecting brown. We knew that the rest of the add-ons weren't included, I just for some reason didn't realize it was painted in the finished product picture. I used a brown paint and "white washed" them and they turned out very cute. A few of the boxes had been folded incorrectly in the packaging and they had a "crease" in the wrong place on the side, but it was hardly noticable once they were painted. A few had a weird glue substance on them, but overall they met our needs and ended up looking like a fun treasure chest. They aren't something that would last forever (particularly with kids), but for a party favor box or something similar they work great. March 26, 2009
