DIY Wonderful Basket Weaving Boards
great gift for nursing home visit
Our fifth and sixth grade girls made theses quickly, filled them with potpourri and gave them as gifts when they visited the nursing home in the neighborhood. They were a quick and easy craft for that age, and each one turned out differently.

Using for VBS
These are easily enough done and can either include the handle or not.

Worth money if you get creative
I bought this to make baskets for mother's day. I teach 2nd grade. There was instructions, but they were worthless. I did what the instructions said to do, and even zoomed in on the picture to double check. What are the notches for?? I am very crafty, but I finally just folded them over to make a loop. I am going to take ribbon (I used yarn on the bottom part), and try to cover up the loops. I figured out that you have to take a thick bunch of yarn and braid it to make the handle.
Overall, I am disappointed because it said a 3 year old could do this. Yeah right!!!

Frustrating to finish
I asked for a sample of this project since I had read some poor reviews. The weaving boards were alright, they could have been made from a little stronger cardboard though. The tough part was finishing off the basket. The instructions are not clear at all on how to do this. I'm rather creative and even after playing around with it for 2 hours I couldn't come up with an easy way to finish this cute little basket.

Not What We Thought
These make a nice looking basket, until you get to the notched area on the sides. We haven't figured out how to finish them off, even with following the directions. And there is no template for the handle.
Decent price, but hard to do. Cute idea, but needs a little improvement.

Purchased for girl scout troop. Haven't completed this project at a meeting yet, but I feel that the instructions need a little more. Some websites include a video on how to do a project. I just felt that a little more pictures or instructions were needed.

I bought these in lieu of the styrofoam bowls our curriculum suggested. They are a nice idea, but I think the bowls would have been better. These are thin and, therefore, very flimsy once made. Consequently, trying to figure out how to finish the top was very difficult. They tear and bend easily. I'm concerned my younger kids will not be able to finish them off at all....

There were no intructions included with this item which makes finishing off difficult if not impossible. My kids want to make their baskets so they look like the picture and without the instructions we just can't do it.

Nice idea but would it have killed anyone to write down a few directions?? Even high school National Honor Society students couldn't figure it out..

We used these as our "gifts from Jesus" craft. They work best for little hands with very thick yarn, cut ahead of time. We weren't sure how to make the handle though.
