Culture inside a wooden globe!
It's a great way to ask children "what does the world mean? What is inside a world globe?" The answer can be so many words like, "water", "earth" "sky" but once they get into "countries" and "people", that's when you can open up this wooden globe and introduce them to the 8 multicultural painted and wooden children. That's when the fun begins and you can start introducing them to culture and geography!

Picture not accurate
The price was not bad, its cheap. I just want to let other customers know that the picture is inaccurate. The wooden children in the picture are of various skin tones and very cute. the one i received are of only two skin tones ( if they are any race other then white they are just really dark african american. even the asian, Native American, and eskimo kids). the children also have less detail. The globe in the picture is somewhat similar to what earth looks like. The one I received is very lightly painted and the continents are random blobs and dots, not earth.

Would not purchase this item again
The globe was cracked on the top on all that were shipped. I even called to get them replaced, which Oriental Trading did and I greatly appreciate it, but they came cracked at the top again. I think if the item was packaged better this would not happen. Great customer service, just disappointed in the shipment of the item.

Cute, but drastically inaccurate
Purchased this for classroom decor, and was very very disappointed in the globe. I feel a little embarrased bringing it into my classroom, because it is incredibly inaccurate. However the "dolls" inside are very cute and represent a wide culture range.

Decent quality, great price
I was hesitant to purchase this after reading the reviews, but my daughter loves global dolls so I got this for her anyway. The quality is slightly better than what I expected. Each doll is about 2" tall and is painted well with cute details. The globe is made from inexpensive wood and was very difficult to open. I had to pry it with a small screwdriver at first, but a very light sanding around the edges fixed that problem easily. The continents are definitely painted in an abstract manner. It's not realistic in any way, but that wasn't an issue for me. It's pretty much what you see in the product picture. Overall, I think this is a cute educational item for the price.

can't open them!
Can't get the globes open - will have to sand them before giving them to the kids!!! A real pain! The other stacking dolls ordered were even worse.....

We bought this for business since we expanded globally; item is adorable and has good use, however, we have to smack the seam on the edge of our desk to even get it to open for the wood is stuck and it won't pull apart.

Whole World in His Hands
I bought this on a whim for my twin 7 yr old kids who like to play with small hand held toys. They are mission oriented so this was a great way to for them to play and talk about geography as well. I had to give this a "good" on quality because the world is not painted with the seven continents. It painted with land and ocean, but doesn't represent the topography of Earth. They're interested in geography so they noticed this right away, but for the price I don't mind at all! They can look at their real globe! Its small and makes a great travel toy!
