Purchased 6 blocks to use for a craft for my 1st graders Valentines gifts. So easy to use. Soap melts quickly and hardens clear. Perfect for a first timer!

Not a Good Product
I have bought glycerin soap from OTC in the past, not for soap making but because I was looking for a pure, unscented glycerin soap that didn't cost an arm and a leg. The soap came in a large rectangle shape block which could be easily cut with a large kitchen knife into easy to hold bars. The soap had smooth creamy lather, a clean "no scent" smell and did not irritate my sensitive skin. I really liked that product. But recently when I ordered glycerin soap, I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the product. The new soap has a smell like cheap public restroom soap...kind of "industrial". Also, it will not lather in cold water! It's like rubbing a bar of plastic. In warm or hot water it lathers well but most people making gift soaps are making little hand size bars which will be used with cold water. What good is hand soap that won't lather in cold water? I wouldn't want to have to use warm water just to get some lather every time I wash my hands. In my opinion, OTC replaced a good product with an inferior product and I will not be ordering this soap again.

I am sad to say that I was very disappointed! The glycerine bubbled over-even with a slow cooker.. I had to skim the bubbles off, which took more than half the glycerine-AND I still had white dried bubbles in it. This glycerine made 7 small slivers of soap by the time I was finished. I will add pictures! The pictures show a "cedar wood w/ dried calendula flowers" -the soap is suppose to be all brown. It dried 1/2 white because of the foamy bubbles. Horrible! -Plus, I wasted an entire bottle of essential oil trying to get rid of the dish-soap smell.. which didn't work, and my dried Calendula- RUINED! -I had to throw them away. -I would suggest this soap for a kids school project because its cheap, and kids projects don't have to be perfect. But be aware that even after the cloudy, dried bubbled icky smelling soap was done- I tried to test one.. And, like everything else. A BIG disappointment. My hands smelled like cheap dish soap, and there was no lather, and my skin felt pretty dry.

Does NOT dry clear!
I don't know if Oriental Trading changed their soap formula or what because the earlier reviews say otherwise, but this did NOT dry clear AT ALL. It was cloudy. Plus, when you melt it, no matter how slowly or gently, tons of small bubbles appear inside the soap. Normally you can use a spritz of rubbing alcohol to clear them, but that did NOT work with this soap. Once the soap was completely dry, the outside was tacky and the whole thing looked and felt cheap. I finally threw it out and bought the clear glycerin melt and pour soap from a local craft supply shop and had none of the above problems. I would not recommend this soap at all.

Don't buy it
The soap came in in the cylinder shape instead of prism. After melting and putting in a mold, the soaps came out very dull and sticky. Don't buy it.

I like it!
Very good quality, feels great on skin and dry clear. I add some naturals oils and use it everyday. It's a very mild soap.

Good In a Pinch
As a professional soapmaker, I was looking for some fill in melt and pour while my regular supplier got more in. For the cost it is great. Clear melting, cools appropriatly and is of stable quality.
