Some Would Not Sharpen Some of the pencils would not sharpen correctly because the lead was not straight. I could not get a sharp point for those pencils, and they were completely unusable. I had to throw away about half of the pencils. I did not have this problem with the white happy birthday pencils I purchased from Oriental Trading. I would recommend them instead. July 26, 2012

Birthday gift from teacher Great incentive for high school students...especially in a math class! Happy birthday pencil from your teacher! Not many styles out there to choose from, however, but a brighter version from a competitor is one that OT should carry in their inventory. In a pinch these are pretty good for the girls! Great gift My students love receiving these pencils on their birthdays. However, I only bought enough for each student to have one. So when the pencil lead broke repeatedly-before some students could use it, they were disappointed and I didn't have enough to give them another pencil. Should have bought two packages.
