12 "I Love School" Necklaces Craft Kit 2.0 5 1 1

First Day Disaster I ordered these for a first day of school craft for my second graders. Upon arrival, they were adorable! I was pleased to see that the ends of the laces were plastic-bound to prevent raveling. However, the children and I soon discovered that most of the laces would not fit through the holes of the charms! I had to cut off the plastic ends. Then many of the metal rings came out, rendering the adorable charms useless. Fortunately, I still had some leftover charms from last year's project, but many of the children had already lost interest in frustration. August 20, 2012
