Used this in my Children's Church class. Ages 3 to 7. I was a bit nervous about the whole sand thing. It was GREAT. I gave specific instructions to just pull one piece of paper off at a time and barely snipped the corners of the sand. The kids loved it. They had so much fun creating mixed colors. They made no mess at all. Gave each one a paper towel to work on and clean up is a breeze. Will definately do more of these kits.

by jharry Lots of Fun - Kids Loved Them
We have used these twice for Sunday School and the kids keep asking to do them again. What's not to love? They get to sprinkle brightly colored sand (using box lids to keeps things tidy) to create the art. Some of the kids got really creative and did a gradation. I attached a photo of one of the gradations. Highly recommend this craft. It's fun, easy, and turns out well for everyone. Our classes range in age from 3 years-to-12 years and they all enjoyed it. There's plenty of sand in the kit and we have plenty left over. We put magnets on the back when done. I think next time we'll try mounting the piece and possibly framing it.

If you can't stand a little sandy mess, then don't buy these! Otherwise, they are so cute and putting the different colors of sand in the letters is fun for most. You simply peel off the adhesive portion you want to "sand" and apply the sand to the area. These were used as a craft for our church-wide Bible school and everyone seemed to enjoy them. Plus, the younger kids loved "playing" in the leftover sand.

Not too messy. Kids were creative. They mixed the sand on some letters, called it Rainbow colors. One girl pealed the fish and left the letters covered and the fish was then rainbow colors. Time fit in really well with our program. We had a 2 yr old and a 12 yr old. They all enjoyed this.

We bought these for our preschoolers, ages 4 and 5. They LOVED them. A couple had trouble peeling off the paper, especially the background part. Covering each area was very simple with just a tiny corner cut in each bag. There are seven colors of sand, not six as are pictured, and there are seven parts to be covered. It would have been helpful if one of the seven bags had more sand in it to cover the entire background - we needed to use extra sand to allow this to happen.
