Great purchase
These are great for introducing money to children. The size is great. They are great for little hands. They are easy to tell apart and teach the different denominations.

BIG money
I really like these! I do agree with the other reviewer that the coloring on the pennies is more of bronze versus copper, but otherwise realistic. Yes, I know they are over-sized, which is perfect because you don't have to worry about losing the small pieces like other coin sets. The quarter's diameter (largest) is about the size of a 14-16 oz. canned food item. The dime's diameter (smallest) is exactly the same size of pop can top. You get five pennies, three nickels, three dimes, and two quarters. They feel sturdy and the markings are very good (lots of texture). All the coins have the necessary markings of a real coin except for the mint (D or P) and the year. Not a big deal when starting out teaching money and coin value.
I will probably buy another set or two to make variations of a dollar (four quarters, ten dimes, ect.). I think this a great manipulative for teachers and parents to use when introducing the concept of money.

OK
The coins are a good size and a great price, but the color on the pennies is off - it's more of a golden color than a copper color. It's still useable for teaching about money, but it's not the right color.
