I have hung these 3 different ways. If there is a smooth surface, in my first case finished wood, then the adhesive strip works great. Just peel back the paper cover and press into place. In another location, the wall had a little texture; not even a lot. It would not stay with the adhesive. I used clear push pins into the dry wall. That too worked great. In the last scenario there was nothing to attach to at all, so I strung a cord across and attached the ends to a couple of small eyelets, that I hand screwed into the wall. Then I used small clear plastic clothes pins, or clips. The product is very light so it did not even sag too much in the middle. Just a little.
