Mardi Gras Jester Hat Craft Kit
Lots of fun and a great craft
Kids and adults loved this craft. Just make sure you use "foam glue" and not Elmers.

wonderful craft project
We used the jester hat for a VBS castle theme craft. Had I known how well it would work out, I would have ordered enough for all of the boys to make one.

These are a cute idea, but the disappointing part came from the ribbon that you are to first apply was not flat like pictured in any diagram, it was a thin spagetti pc. of ribbon that you could not glue unless you were an adult - which I am and was difficult to do. The coins were very cheap with rough edges and to glue the bells on when they have a loop for attaching was very challenging. I'm not sure what age this was recommended, but I'm 46 and my niece is 17 and it was tough.

instructions hard for children
The jester hats are cute when they finally get put together but the instructions are hard for kids to follow. Our age group was 6-12 and most needed help. It made more sense to start with step 2, then move on. The purple stripes on the hat band came as very thin string and we were not able to glue them. Most of the kids didn't use them at all. The coins for the outside of the hat are dimensional, making it very difficult to glue them because the outer edge was raised. We ended up using tape -not very attractive, but useful for this project. Unless you have time to put these together in stages, letting glue dry between steps, elmer's glue or similar won't work. I highly recommend a sample be done by the responsible party before providing instruction to others.

I picked these up for my daughter's daycare - seem's like the kids love to make hats - and they were great!
The kids had fun and looked great.

Lots of fun
I thought these were a lot of fun to wear and the kids enjoyed making them. I made a hat before the party and found that regular school glue works fine, but takes forever to dry and I had to build it in stages to allow parts to dry before working on it some more. Most of the kids (approx 12 years old) used hot glue guns instead so they would dry faster and could be worn right away.
