I'm thinking about using these in a DIY snow globe. Has anyone tried that? Thoughts? It looks like they're flat -- but maybe if I stick into some silicone they would stand up?
Will these gingerbread men work in a DIY snow globe?
Sounds like a nice idea!
I don't know if the paint will stay on in liquid. The cuff decoration (on hands and feet) goes around to the back. The back of the body is stamped with "MADE IN CHINA" (slightly raised letters, but not painted).
They are made of very smooth, slightly flexible plastic. (Don't know how well the silicone will adhere to the plastic.)
Some of the gingerbread men are slightly bowed, but if you anchor them with silicone, they will probably be good.
It's hard to tell, but according to my ruler, the thickness of hands or feet is 1/8 inch to a bit less than 1/2 centimeter. (The head and belly seem a teeny bit thicker, or more rounded, looking from the thinnest side!)
They stand about 1.75 inches (a bit over 4 centimeters) tall.
From hand to hand, they are just less than 1.5 inches or a bit more than 3.5 centimeters.
Feet are about 1 and 1/8 inch across (just less than 3 centimeters) from toe to toe;
each foot is more than a centimeter but less than 1/2 inch;
space between the feet is between 1/4 and 3/8 of an inch (more than 1/2 centimeter).
I hope that helps let you know what to expect!
Give it a try! Hope it works out for you!
