Great for a Classroom for Chinese New Year
These envelopes are larger than the traditional lee see or "money envelopes" but work well in the classroom because of the bright colors and large size. They hold a sufficient amount of chocolate candy or paper play money. The message printed on the front of the envelope is not completely appropriate for Chinese New Year, but most elementary school students won't know the difference. They love them! I buy them every year from Oriental Trading and the students prefer these over the more traditional ones from banks, etc.

Not Quite Right for Chinese New Year, but Fun!
I bought these to make luck money bags for work. The upper row of characters translates to "prosperity," but the main large character reads "congratulations." These are really intended for weddings, but no one seemed to mind, not even the folks who grew up in China. The bags were a nice weight of paper - kind of like expensive glazed wrapping paper. The printing was pretty good quality. I was a little worried that the meager amount of glue on the flaps would hold, but it held shut just fine.

No Regrets!
Really nice for the price. Conveys the simple message of goodwill and my 2nd graders loved them. I bought one bag of chocolate coins and had enough to fill 17 bags with 4 pieces each (even numbers are good luck)...so it was perfect for me.

Great Buy!!
I used these in Kung Fu Panda themed goodie bags for my sons birthday party! The printing is very nice and quality is great! I put a quarter in each one, but it is large enought for dollar bills as well. Makes a unique goodie bag gift and is very well priced.
Everyone loved them!
Would most definately buy again!

Good Giveaways
The paper is thin and the gold color isn't as nice as some other lucky money holders on the market - but since these envelopes get thrown out usually - for the price - this is a good purchase.

This Hard to Find Item Exceeds Expectations!
The generous size, quality, and inexpensive price of these Chinese gift envelopes is excellent. The envelopes in this large size are very hard to find and so Oriental Trading Company is the go-to place for this and all my other Chinese New Year party supplies! You will not be disappointed.

Just what I wanted
I needed an appropriate memento for some fourth graders who attended a Tangram workshop. I bought the fortune cookies and the red bags. The children loved both items.

Nice envelopes for the price
The envelopes were nice, didn't fall apart when my daughters put in their chocolate coins for their classmates. My only complaint is that a few of the envelopes came without the printing so I'm glad that I ordered extra.

Perfect for parties
I used these for a birthday party and a class lesson on chinese new year. Perfect for what I needed. Too bad symbol means Congratulations. Good fortune or prosperity or luck would have been more authentic. BUT, for the price, PERFECT!!!!

Too large to be authentic looking
There is absolutely nothing mini about these bags. They are much too large in size -- almost twice the size of what a true Chinese red envelope should be!
