Fine for the price
Small and not the best quality. I did not have any issues with the smell as some of the other reviewers did. These were perfect for including in treat bags for my niece's 11 year old class and the kid's really liked them.

Generally Happy
Bought this item for the audience in a work presentation. Generally we were happy with the item as it met our need- keeping their hands busy. As with most other Oriental Trading products, you get what you pay for. The incredibly cheap price sold us, however, you lose a little bit on quality-- colors bleeding into another section where it shouldnt be for instance. Still, we couldn't find anything remotely similar in terms of cost so we were happy and would purchase again.

Cute and Fun!
I use these as part of the reward system in my classroom (high school chemistry). This is the second most popular item from my reward box and the kids have even passed up on a homework pass in favor of this toy.
It is true that the balls come with a strong odor (as a chemist I know that this is a result of the manufacturing process) but I just take them out of the little bags and air them out for a week before putting them in my box. There is still a odor but its not terrible.

not what i expected
I bought these to place into the goody bags for my 3 year-old son's party. They almost didn't make it into the bags due to their strong odor. I aired them out for about 2 weeks before the party, but the scent was still there. They are very cute, but the pieces can be pulled off by prying hands (which almost all toddlers have). The pink ball looks plain compared to the others in the bunch. Overall, they looked cute as part of the goody bag, but I would not purchase, again.
