I did this with a Kindergarten class. It was fun for them to do and cute to take home.

Didn't go over so good
None of the decorative pieces stay attached with school glue -since we assembled these at a school party A LOT of staples were needed since a hot glue gun would not work in a 6 year old classroom setting.

Ok, but needed some preassembly
I did this craft in my pre-k class of twenty students on the day of our Valentine's Day party. I did some preassembly the night before b/c I just knew that the kids would want to take the craft home that day and the glue on some of the craft would not be dry yet and the craft would ultimately full apart. So, I hot glued on the teeth, ribbon, and hearts to the pipcleaners. I also punched two holes in the top for the kids to thread the pipe cleaners into and twist close by themselves. Otherwise the kids really enjoyed making them and they turned out really cute...I was just not happy to have to do as much prep as I did. I also would suggest that since the craft has foam pieces that the pieces should be stickers. Most teachers don't have enough foam glue for an entire class and elmer's glue takes too long to dry. Plus, peeling the backing off stickers is a great fine motor skill.

First grade class loved them but glue could never hold the antennas in place. We ended up using tape to hold all the items on the back to the plate. Too much glue on back and front.

Need tape or other type of glue
Elmer's glue does not hold the antennas in place. We ended up using tape to hold them onto the plate. Some of the plates were torn up like they had been caught in the cutting machine. I had enough ordered that this one not a major issue. Overall the kindergarteners enjoyed them.
