Ratings & Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings...but "good" These are individually packaged (as lollypops-cute!), with the snap for each bracelet attached to the stick/wrapper. However, they end up badly flattened and kind of squished in transit. There's only one set of directions. If you want to break them up, you'll need to make copies. The directions just kind of reference a bracelet, so if this is going in a stocking or as part of a craft kit to mail off/donate, you may want to make a tag to attach so it's clear what's going on (and that that little plastic clip on the wrapper is important). You need materials to finish this. They don't pre-cut the cord(s) so you have to measure 30" and then have pretty good scissors or a box cutter to keep it from "chewing" the cords. They rec using glue on the cut ends to keep them from unraveling. They also suggest tape to hold it in place. I basically built assembly kits to go with the copied instructions and added a colored "parapop bracelet" tag to include with the ones going in some craft kits. Those clips are really small, easy to lose, and not all that sturdy. They come in pale green and purple as well as the pink, evenly divided, which opens it up as a unisex and for non-pinky-pink girls craft. That was really nice to find. With any luck, OTC's suppliers will expand to a primary or dusky-tones set or camo green-brown-black options. And maybe start cutting the cord and sealing the two ends of the two pieces ahead of time. (That would eliminate a lot of the aggravation and extra pieces floating around.) It's also for a slightly more advanced hand, and kids that can sit. For us, as a winter or rainy-day craft, it works, but a youngster and somebody with iffy hands will likely struggle. The instructions are somewhat simplistic (a little too simplistic?) on two sides of a single glossy page. I'd have struggled without either YouTube or people who've done similar before, but I've not braided anything like that in 30 years and didn't do it often. I love the packaging as a lollypop. In my world, I'd be willing to order them again, but I'll snag some extra snaps (just in case) and I'll probably keep it as something to do with a group or maybe send it as 4-6 instead of planning on 2-3 per person and having to basically build a kit bigger than the lollypops for instructions and assembly materials (we don't take for granted that the recipients have access to materials). Still, it's a really cute presentation, a nice craft, and something a little difference from some of the other DIY bracelets. I'd absolutely buy it again, but I'd be better prepared ahead of time.
