If you use the smaller (6mm) pony beads then I think the first answer of 24 sounds correct. Another answer said the bracelets are 1/8 " thick (4mm). However, if you use 1 pound of metallic star 10mm beads, 10mm star or flower beads, then less would fit & may make the bracelet diameter too small for those over 5-9. If you have leftover beads, my suggestion is to SAVE THEM for another event! SUCH AS: OCC boxes, Sunday school, VBS, Commnity-sponsored projects, Summer camp, or Parent-Child relationship building & counting. I just order EXTRA plastic bracelets or necklaces separately (they snap together and can come open to re-bead a different design), or tipped yarn from OCC, (plastic definitely found under search "pony beads" and I think search "yarn" for the lanyards you tie up with the tips for easy beading). I have not personally used the OTC plastic pony bead bracelets, they get mixed reviews and seem to be for smaller wrists or the smaller pony beads, but make sure hole is 5-6mm to fit & stay snapped together. I just order extra everything depending upon the age I am buying for. PS KIDS LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE PONY BEADS, ESP. SMALL FINGERS FOR MANIPULATION & CREATIVE DESIGNS. PONY BEADS ARE EASY TO WORK WITH, COLORFUL, COME IN MANY VARIETIES, & I COUNT OUT EXTRA BEADS FOR THE 2-9 YEAR-OLDS & PUT BEADS & BRACELETS/NECKLACES OR YARN LACES WITH TIPS FROM OTC ALL IN SEPARATE BAGGIES "KITS". As far as quality of bracelets go, I am ordering several sets of each since the craft stores STOPPED CARRYING THEM, PLUS OTC BEATS STORE PRICES HANDS DOWN FOR SAME QUALITY. Hope this helps.
