Photo Santa Ornament Craft Kit
I thought this was the perfect craft for my daughter to make for her grandma, who asks for a new Santa ornament each Christmas. Unfortunately, the holes that are drilled into the "hands" and "feet" beads are way too large. Even if you tie 5 knots in the end of the string before begining to string the beads on, the knot can still be pulled through the hands and feet. The string provided is too short to tie more than 5 knots, and besides that, it looks terrible. I finally rummaged through my jewelery making supplies and used some spacer beads on the ends to prevent the hands and boots from slipping off. Also, the directions suggest that you glue the green string to the felt hat, but the ornament is too heavy for that to work, so you'll want to string it through the same holes the arms are threaded through. Lastly, you might want to take a small piece of scotch tape and wrap it tightly around the end of each string before trying to thread any beads; most of the holes in the beads aren't drilled smoothly and the string gets caught rather often. Good luck not getting frustrated with this one!
