Religious Candy Cane Ornament Craft Kit
All the pieces were there. Taking into consideration the age of the children and my time constraint I chose to put parts of each kit together ahead of time. leaving 6 parts for the children to do. I suggest the use of glue dots instead of regular glue or glue sticks. The mini glue dots worked very well. I used large candy cane sticks instead of candy canes. Using the glue dots enable the children to remove the star and the manger from the candy and glue them in the wall in their room for an individual reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.

Perhaps 7-10 year olds could do better
This piece needed lots of glue drying time between steps. It was a little over the heads of 5-year-olds and would be better for 7-8 year olds.

cute but not simple
I'd say this isn't for kids under 8 or those easily frustrated. We wanted our creations to last, so we used the shiny PLASTIC full-sized candy canes that Dollar Tree sells. Finished craft is very cute.

I thought this was a really cute idea and liked how the finished craft looked in the catalog. It was fairly hard to put together, you absolutely have to use a hot glue gun because it is really hard to get the foam to stick to the plastic of the candy cane. Also, be careful with the foam...if you mess with it too much it will tear. Once I had made one, my children asked me, "Why is Baby Jesus wearing a hula skirt?" I guess I should have been more random with the straw.

nice, but not great
I liked how the product looked in the catalog, so I ordered it. Pieces for each candy cane were individually packaged, however, pieces were missing from about half of the packets. Hands and faces are the most missed pieces. The description said it came with EXTRA pieces. the only thing I had extra was the hay pieces. Of course you can look at the pictures to see how to do the craft, good thing, because the directions were a joke. i tried to follow them because that's how I am, but they just didn't make sense. I could piece together enough packets to make 9 complete candy cane decorations. I did like how they turned out.

Several small pieces were missing. This was a very difficult craft for small children. It took a lot of glue and was very messy. The finished product was very cute though.

Needs candy canes!
The candy canes are not included, so be sure to buy your own. Also, this craft is pretty hard, and I would not recommend using it for children under 5th grade.
