Ribbon Storage Boxes with Lid
I was disappointed when this ribbon storage box arrived. From the promo photo of the product, I thought I was getting 4 boxes, not just one. I would not have purchased one box for $5. The other problem with the box is that the dowels are too short to be of any use. If the dowels were longer and extended beyond the width of the box, and there were holes to attach the dowels to the box, then the ribbons would be held securely in place. As it is, when I pull on a ribbon to use it, it unravels from the spool and everything becomes in disarray. I can't use it the way it is designed.

Plain frosted box is not tall enough to fit larger spools. I also purchased the Ribbon Organizer so I put the larger spools on it. I decided to decorate the lids myself with stickers, stamps. etc. I was disappointed to see that there was no place for the dowels to rest on.
All in all I'd say the quality and usefulness of these are worth about $1.99. Undecided about recommending these but probably not.

I don't use them for their intended purpose
I bought 2 of these to store my ribbon in. The dowel rods were cut too short in one of them. The ribbons slip out of the holes and back into the box all of the time. This is not an effective way to store ribbon at all. I have since put photos in them. I am now looking for a better storage solution for my spools of ribbon.

All of my boxes were plain. None were colored or patterned. It was not helpful with the ribbons because there was no place for the stick to rest on as other boxes do. It allows the ribbons to roll back and forth.

Where to start?
The box is adequate for something other than ribbons. The holes for the ribbons are small, so only plan to use it for narrow width (less than 1/2 inch). The rods are a good idea, but dont plan on fitting the spools of ribbon that come on a bigger size spool in these, they wont fit the width between rods or the height to the top of the box. They are shown with colored lids (green, purple and a flowered lid) they come basic frosted, so be aware of that. Waste of money if you are looking to store bigger spools.
