perfect for next to a tree w/presents
I love this! It's actually bigger than I thought I'd be. The only down side is the assembly was a little difficult; but other than that, it's perfect! I plan on putting it next to the tree with presents on it, and around it bridging to under the tree.

If you really want...
a nice wood sled, then yes I recommend this. However the price is a bit high for this.
When shipped, it did not come pre-assembled, you have to put it together yourself. The drilled holes where you place the screws were too small, so it was difficult to get the screw to turn into the wood. It was also difficult to avoid it screwing in at an angle.
When it arrived, there were NO instructions, and the screws (which were very poor quality in of themselves) were flying loose in the box. As there were no instructions, there was also no listing of how many parts there should be. Overall its very simple to figure out, but as this was poorly packaged and the screws went flying out of the box because they were loose, it caused hesitation.
There should be 6 large/thick screws - these are used for the rods and the sled base.
There should be 6 small/thinner screws - these are used for the top of the sled to the base.
When putting the top to the base, I could not see where the holes were to line up, so I feel I ended up drilling more holes into it.
One of the slats on the top part was loose, however thankfully it was also one of the slats that would screw to the base, so the screw held it back down and I did not need to glue it.
It does bother me a little that the screws were bright shiny silver. This would have been better with flat/matte dark grey or even black. The silver really stands out against the wood.
Overall however, I do think if you want a sled (and this is decor only, it shouldnt be used as a sled) then its worth getting. It is a nice size. You could have a dinner plate fit on it, to give an idea of width.
