Neato Mosquito
I PERSONALLY THINK THAT FOR THE PRICE OF "SPOOKY SHADOWS" IT HAS AWESOME SPECIAL EFFECTS! I LIKE THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT SHADOWS IT REPRESENTED, AND WHEN ALL THE LIGHTS ARE OUT IT MAKES THEM ALL LOOK LIKE AUTHENTIC SHADOWS. THE ABSOLUTELY ONLY THING I WOULD CHANGE WOULD BE MAYBE A SLIGHTLY BRIGHTER BULB.

Don't waste your money
First, I would like to say that this is the first negative review I have written. I usually feel like you get what you pay for, but not in this case. I bought this "Spooky Shadow" projector to use in a corner of a kids haunted house. I was extremely excited for it to show up...and then I took it out of the box. It is made of extremely cheap plastic and felt like something I would have bought at the 99 cent store. I put batteries in and turned it on. It was really cute so I figured I could get over the cheapy feel of it...THEN I shut it off. I turned it on about an hour later to show my kids and whatever made the "globe" part turn stopped working. So it literally worked for about 1 minute. I am sending it back.

Fun, but...
This is a fun product, but... The pictures go around in reverse, so the witch and ghost fly backwards. It makes a low, grinding noise, so plan on unintended sound effects. It's a fun shadowcaster, that would benefit from a couple of improvements!

Batteries would not fit right
After forcing the batteries in the slots the plate to go over would not go back on. Was not impressed with show, has be be pitch black to show anything in a room the size of a small dining room.

I think that this was a little overpriced for what it does. The movement is loud. So not so good for a quite setting. Having said that it really does lite up a room.

Pretty Neat
Pretty neat idea for our Halloween party. I agree that the battery comp. is difficult to remove and did push down on the globe a few times, frustrating. Popped back up. I didn't put the screw back in, just taped the bottom. Bought on sale, so good for price pd.

I bought this for our Halloween Party thinking that it would create a spooky effect. The shadows are blurry and you can hardly make them out. It must be meant for a very small room. It is also noisy. I would not recommend it.

Couldn't even get batteries in it!
Try as we might with a screwdriver, nail file, knife...we could not get the battery compartment open and therefore could not use it at all. On the last attempt at getting the screw loosened to put batteries in, the plastic globe on top dented. Very disappointing. Can't they do away with the screw? Or at least make it easier to remove??

2nd chance
I've purchased this item twice within a 3-4 year range. The 2nd one I recently purchased, was much better than the 1st one.
Considering the batteries are not already installed, it was frustrating both times to have to remove a screw for the cover to install the batteries. It was difficult to remove both times because both times, the screws had been over tightened. I think the manufacturer should ease up on the screw tighening. Because of this, I may have unintentionally inflicted some damage to the product causing the turning to be more audible than it should have been, but I'll never know. This is the reason why I didn't return or exchange it.
My 2nd purchase was an improvement from the 1st purchase of this product. The screw to the battery door was still tight, but other than that, that is my only negative comment for the 2nd one, as the rotations were quieter and not squeaking.
The quality of this product is not the best in my opinion, but I do like the idea (obviously), and I hope sometime that it can be made of a better quality for still an affordable price.
