I buy these, or the reindeer every year and the boys always enjoy them. I will warn you that as the boys get older, they get better and stronger with their aim and thus... things get a bit more painful, but they all enjoy them in the end.
They are small enough that they don't do a whole lot of damage to your home or others unless up close, but the boys generally enjoy shooting at each other from across the room.
They will break after a few weeks, but in my mind that's a good thing, so they're not flying all year. They also don't do well in frozen temps, so if you're in a cold area, they won't last quite as long if they're left outside.
I would recommend them, and do buy them every year.

They are a cute novelty and great gift from the "elf" but I don't expect them to last super long.

I got these to put on candy canes for Santa to handout at our church Christmas party. They fit great on the candy canes, the kids loved them, and they looked super cute! The drawback was when I got them, many of the white elves had become discolored. Fortunately, I had ordered early enough that I called customer service and they sent some more before the party.

Bought for fun to fly at each other in the home and office. They seem to work well, don't hurt when hit and everyone got a kick out of them. They are not rubberbands and should not be pulled back far or they will break but work on the same order. Ordered a second batch.

These will make great stocking stuffers for my older children. They are practically grown up, but I like to get a few toys for Christmas morning and this should liven things up.
