We used these as a craft with our safari themed unit at church. The kids LOVE doing these sand art pieces. They can be messy, but we just put a disposable tablecloth on the table and give them paper plates to catch the extra sand on. Very cute activity for our preschool and elementary aged children.

The colors are not as bright as shown! The tiger, giraffe & zebra are too hard for younger children! The lion, elephant & rhino are easier. I used sand art in class last year, so I was not new to it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CraftyBabysitter Hard for me, let alone kids!
I was very disappointed in this item. I bought it to do with kids I babysit, but when I tried to do an example to show them I found it was EXTREMELY difficult to pull of the paper without tearing or lifting of some of the paper of another section. Perhaps this problem was exasperated by the fact that I started with the tiger, so lots of little stripes, but still. Also, I don't think the adhesive was quite sticky enough. I probably won't even try this with the kids due to the frustration it caused me.
