Excellent quality fun craft!
We recently purchased this craft with colored sand and used it at our annual church festival. Not only did the kids love them, but the the parents thought they were great quality. A few of the parents actually made one for themselves. I was mostly suprised by the fact that these pens are much larger than I thought. You won't be disappointed. Happy crafting!

Fun craft project
I bought these for kids 4-7 years old. I funneled the sand but let them hold the funnels and pick the colors. They all thought it was pretty cool. They are pretty cheaply made and I did have to glue the twist on tops to keep them from opening. All, in all, though, a neat craft!

they fall apart and they don't write very well; even had to call to get them replaced as half arrived already broken
they need to rethink this product. poor quality. plastic breaks. pens don't write.

Worst purchase that I have made from OTC.
Would not recommend this item at all. About a third of the 30 pens that we ordered either broke while being removed from the packaging or while the plastic covering was being removed from the ball point pen tip (which was a mess).

Great Product
this was an excellent project for a birthday party. I used it for my daughter's when she turned 6 and it was the perfect thing. It was easy enough for them to do, took long enough to keep them busy, but not too long. I would recommend using funnels, as these have a very narrow opening. I also loved the fact that this was something they could actually use after they finished making it! They are not the best quality in the world, but certainly as good as would be expected for the price.

Very Disappointed
I was terribly disappointed with the sand art pens. I have purchased all of our VBS crafts from Oriental Trading for years and have never been disappointed until now. The writing tip of the pens breaks off easily. I purchased four dozen of these and 3/4 of the tips were already broken or broke when unwrapping them.

Would buy again - great party activity
I bought these with the Neon Sand set for my daughter's Rainbow party. The kids loved them and I found a cotton ball stuffed in the end keeps the sand from shifting around. One tip did break off one but, super glue fixed it no problem. There is only about an inch of ink to write with in the tip.

awesome pens
these are great. my son had a great time filling them up. I super glued the top of the pens so that they would not open up and spill sand everywhere. I ordered two dozen of them and every single one worked.
