They were good for what I needed
I purchased these for a Wizard of Oz themed birthday party. I took the dinky lil spider out and put in a heart shaped ring pop for the children. I didnt use them for bobbing. They were the perfect size for a toddlers party and fit right in the goody bags.

Couldn't use for bobbing for apples
I thought this was a great idea, not having to use real apples for bobbing. But the apples are not weighted properly so they float either sideways or upside down. And since they are plastic apples the only way to grab them with your teeth is on the stem which is impossible to get to by the way they float. I thought about adding a tiny weight to the bottom but opted against the extra work and just hid them around the house for the kids to find. They enjoyed the game anyway and the little toy and sticker it came with was simple and cheap, but of course the kids (ranging in age from 2-6) still loved it. Fine for maybe other games but definitely not for bobbing!

Could not use them
I did not purchase these apples to be used for bobbing, so I wasn't concerned about that. I just wanted to use them as gifts. The description does not list the toy inside. My toys were plastic bugs and in most of the apples I opened, one of the bug's eyes had fallen off and landed in the bottom of the apple. The apples themselves are cute and the little stickers inside are okay, but if you choose to use these apples, get a different toy for the center. I chose to send them back and order something else.

Wonderful game
The apples were a big hit as far as games go. For every apple they got they received a treat. We had a continuous line throughout the evening. It was a lot of fun.

Bobbing Apples these ARE NOT
I was very disappointed that the apples immediately turned upside down when placed in the water. Since they were plastic, of course, you were unable to try taking a bite out of the apple. Impossible to get to stem to retrieve apple, and all we got was 20 really wet kids, crying that they couldnt get the apple. What a waste of money.

Good, if you TWEAK it!
These apples are great in concept and work fine... IF you take the cheap stuff that comes in it out and fill the apples with something heavier. If you do that, they will float upright, although it was hard to find things packaged to do so - I just risked it and put in some unpackaged candy. Easy for kids (or adults) to bit the stem to get them, which made it lots of fun!
