Great Party favor
At our end of school pirate party, the children used these boxes to store the goodies they found in a treasure hunt. If you expect the children to work independently on this craft , I wouldn't buy it for children under 8.

Best Purchase
The children loved the treasure chest. I decided to do most of the work putting it together because it would have taken awhile before the glue would dry. but had them put extra jewels on and it was really beautiful. I was really satisfied with it. All the children loved it and had a wonderful time..

Great craft idea even if coins are broken...
Purchased these for a birthday party craft. Only downer was that in each chest, half of the "treasure" was broken. The coins included were mostly halves, not whole coins. After throwing out the pieces, the kids had fun grabbing as many coins as they could to fill their chest!

Should have bought the damaged sets
We supposedly purchased the "good" sets of chests, but several had to be repaired with duct tape before we painted them. None of the latches really work right. We'll use them, but are disappointed we paid so much.

Great value
I used these for my son's pirate party. The kids found their treasure and got to put it in here to take home. I decorrated them myself since they were too young and I found using a glue gun was definitely faster than regular glue. I only got the gold balls shown in the photo in 1 kit out of 24. The rest had some ugly yellow foam dots to use that i just threw out. The ribbon was fine. Plenty of coins and jewels to make them look cool! The kids loved them. Only one out of 24 was squished so that the lid would not open/close properly.

Disappointed
I don't like to write poor reviews, but the quality is not what I usually get from oriental trading. Hardly any of the clasps actually closed and a lot of the corners were smashed in. It is a VBS craft, and I just hope the kids are not disappointed.

Cheaply made and most lids did not match up to fasten
Treasure chests are priced nicely but are very cheaply made!!! Picture is deceiving, no gold beads are included, just orange round foam stickers to place around the ribbon. The lids did not match up to fasten the latch on front. I purchased extra jewels and foam stickers for our guests to decorate with as well as glitter glue.

Good Pirate Party craft
We decorated these at my 4 year old's birthday and they were loved by both boys and girls alike from 4-6 yrs old. The kids actually spent a while decorating them too. Each box comes with it's own packet of decorations and there was plenty of decorations in each packet. I put out glue bottles, pens and some extra stickers we had at home, but the kids mainly used the decorations that came with the boxes. Note: we did not get the gold beads in the photo, but instead received a sheet of round yellow circle stickers which was actually better since some kids were stickering while others were glueing. You do need to provide glue (I had out 2 bottles for 10 kids which was fine). A couple of the lids wouldn't "lock" and were slightly not fitting, but the kids didn't seem to care at all (or even notice). I would definitely buy again.

Cute pirate craft - use glue dots!
This was a good boy craft to go with our fairy party...we didn't paint them but the boys used black markers to further decorate them. Comes with a good amount of decorations for each box. You need to also have glue or glue dots. Some of the boxes were a little damaged even though the whole set came in a big cardboard box. I just taped them from the inside. They won't last long but were good for a party and fun to make.

Upon arrival... just average
When I first found these (on multiple websites) they said they were out of stock but luckily OTC had them available. I really just need a time filler for a 5 year old birthday party and thought these would fit the bill. Upon I arrival, I opened at least 6 of them and the latches dont really latch well, but who cares. My bigger issue is that inside each box are the supplies to decorate it with--a few gems, ribbon and some coins. Of the 6 chests that I opened, all of them have mostly broken coins. Now, I have a bucket full of coins that I purchased before buying these treasure chests so I am not too worried about replacing them. I just hope there arent any more surprises when it comes to the kids putting them together. Will update my review after we use them next week.
