Need some TLC, but were a hit with the kids
Like other reviews have stated, the plastic faces of the drums pop right out, but they're easy to fix. I used transparent tape and white glue, and it didn't take long for me to redo all 36 drums I purchased. Also, as others have noted, the number of beads included is on the skimpy side, so I about doubled the number of beads, and the drums made a nice "wave" sound. No decorations for the drums are included, but regular markers and stickers adhere well the surface, which is like a hard pressed paper. The drums can be colored inside and out and glued or taped shut. The kids loved 'em.

Product with Potential...
I purchased 2 dozen of these ocean drums to use as a craft at my daughter's music/movement themed birthday party. After reading the reviews, I was prepared with my hot glue gun- the plastic window separated from the lid with just the littlest bit of pressure (so I can only imagine how it would go when a preschooler taps it with their hands). I also didn't want the drum's contents spilling out so I planned to hot glue the drums closed once we filled them. Hot gluing didn't take much time at all and was well worth the effort. I also read in other reviews that the "contents" were on the skimpy side- I'd have to agree (see my pictures). Off I went to the craft store to buy more filler- beads, dyed pasta, sequins, and confetti (I'd say I used about 4 cups worth of filler for 2 dozen drums) So, it's a good product, but be prepared to put in a little effort...

not sturdy
Very cute, and a great idea, but the plastic breaks out the minute the kids whack them. If I use them again, I'll run a bead of hot glue around the plastic to secure them (and keep the beads from scattering all over the floor) before I let the kids decorate.

okay, but...
These were an okay product, but there weren't nearly enough beads in the case to fill all 12 of them. I ended up coloring rice to put inside them instead. After you fill them up, you have to tape around the whole outside as well, which can look a little messy, and is impossible to color if you are using crayons or markers.
