More of a funhouse mirror of a lens.
I got these for "take home lab" kits since we're all teaching remotely now. They are very poor optical quality, and appear to be a combination of fresnel lens and a little bit of physical lens. They can cast a sufficiently clear real image to let students estimate the focal length, but that's about it.
In the included picture, the thing being magnified is "(150)(45)". The lampshade casting a real image is bowl-shaped.

BEST ANSWER: They are extremely lightweight, and are small enough to put into a letter. I would wrap it in paper to protect it. They are small, are not high powered, and are not super strong. The lens is about the size of a quarter.
What's the level of magnification? 1.5X, 2X, 3X?
