What we should store up.
I used these to teach the Bible story of the Young Rich Ruler to Preschoolers. They filled it with items we should put first in our life… a cross, paper heart for love, a picture of their family, a picture of the Bible, etc.

Worked great with tacky glue
We used this for VBS. Most kids did not get it done in the 25 minutes we had for craft time, but we could easily put the extra pieces into the box for them to take home. We also used markers to color the box which worked out great! We found that tacky glue worked a lot better than school glue to attach the ribbons and gems. Glue dots would probably have been even better.

Not a good VBS choice.
I purchased these for a VBS craft. They are not a good choice for VBS where each class only has 20 minutes to do their craft. The ribbon on the top of the chest was difficult to glue on because it won't lay flat. They had to be taped on until the glue could dry. The gems should have been the type that you peel the backing off and then stick it on. The gems and coins were too heavy for the glue and they slid off before the glue could dry. These treasure chests were not a good choice for a group

Treasure Chests winning craft!
Our VBS this summer was Treasure Island. This was the perfect craft, great for all ages. The children covered the chests with decorated napkins and glue. They added jewels and ribbons to finish their chest. The chests this summer did not have the latch. The coins were gray plastic, not gold. The children loved them and of course did not miss what they didn't know about the previous product. This is the best craft and a winner for all ages.

Same as what others said.... no gold clasps, just some paper stuck to where the clasp should be. Coins are brown. Not cool
