Great for a birthday party!
I bought this for my 2 year old's birthday party... where we were entertaining him and a few other kids up to age 7. The older kids enjoyed coloring in the pictures and the littles just went crazy with scribbling. It was easy to put together. I wasn't expecting it to hold up with all the kids running in and out and being rough with it, so I wasn't disappointed when it started falling apart. Kids didn't seem to mind and continued playing with it. I would recommend reinforcing it with heavy duty tape if that's a concern.

Made my grandson's day...
Recently my 5yr old grandson and I have embarked on a "box fort" spree, with the building supplies consisting of copious amounts of Duct Tape and a forest of boxes. We ordered the Space Ship coloring box and he was excited, to say the least. The cardboard was good and thick, and the designs easily colored by a 5yr old. The design of the rocket could have assembled better, and Duct Tape was required for some assembly areas to ensure that it would stay together while an active boy went on space adventures. But, Duct Tape and cardboard go together like PB&J... so it was expected. Had the assembly been better, this would have been a 5 star review. But, with the challenges of assembly requiring additional support from strong adhesive tape, I could only give it 3 stars. All in all it is a fun project and fairly sturdy. It's worth what I paid for it, and I might be getting another one for my granddaughter.

Tabs broken
The playhouse arrived with two broken tabs (for inserting into other side for assembly. Nothing duct tape couldn’t fix, but pretty poor quality.

Keeps 'em busy
This coloring rocket was great for our space-themed birthday party. The kids were kept amused for a long time playing inside and coloring the outside. My daughter has also played in it several times since the event and when it gets loved to death it can be recycled. Easy to assemble but be careful pulling it out of the box I ripped off 2 tabs and had to tape them back on. A good buy.

Awesome
Took a few minutes to build, but it was a hit at my son's birthday party! Big enough for two 3 year olds to sit inside, and the kids had so much fun coloring it. Still using it as a playhouse in the backyard. Must have for a space party!

Rocket Ship
I ordered the Color Your Own Rocket Ship Playhouse for Pre-K class at daycare for a dramatic play area on Imagination. The cardboard rocket ship was a little hard to put together and but not too bad. It doesn't help when little ones are so excited to see it. It lasted about a week before it was destroyed by excited 3 year olds playing too rough in it. The kiddos loved it and had an Imagination Space Station.

I'm particularly interested in the height.
Beth332 | November 17th, 2017
  • BEST ANSWER: Once assembled the height was almost four feet (47") and the interior of the hexagon is 32" across from point to point. The door opening is 2 feet high (24") and the width was 17". I got this for my 3 foot tall three-year old's birthday and two kids that size fit inside comfortably, three could fit if they were standing up. It is a little dark with the "door" shut, it may be best to cut the door off or add a few "skylights".

How wide is the opening of the rocket?
ohimji219 | October 6th, 2015
  • BEST ANSWER: The door opening is 25" by 17" approx. With the cardboard door closed it is kinda dark inside but could easily be neatly removed with a box cutter.
