Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Girl Scout camp My Girl Scout troop had a lot of fun decorating these as nature journals and writing in their observations as we hiked. However, the only way to easily get them laced and bound was to wrap tape around the ends of the lace like a shoelace. Otherwise it was very difficult to lace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and simple craft I ordered this craft for a group of 7-9 yos and was quite pleased with it. The younger boys had some difficulty stringing the cover/pages together, but overall the group required minimal assistance. The girls especially enjoyed the ability to personalize their journal by using different threading techniques (cross stitch, straight stitch, whip stitch, etc.) We decorated the covers with markers and paired it with a fun new writing implement. It made a fun and useful take-home craft for our last day of class.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Day Camp These worked well for girls' day camp. The cover is very flexible and stays open for writing in the journal, and it's good for outdoor activity as it can withstand getting damp (we took them to a river to draw marine life). Before the girls assembled them, we printed some of the pages to customize them--turned out very nice!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What you'd expect for $1 each Some didn't have all holes punched, and the strings were hard to get through; had to put tape around the end to make it work. For $1 each for favors for a party, they worked fine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love these Journals this is our third purchase! We bought these a few years back for Camp kids, in between we have made our own covers due to lack of this particular non foam fabric being available with otc. We tried the foam they are lame in our book. I write and produce VBS's yearly and do Kids and Teens camps crafts to speaking; so this is a big deal to have them back! Thank you OTC for bringing back the best do it yourself journals! The kids, and teens , both use these!
