Ratings & Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible directions I bought the stem kit. All the directions are horrible. You will most likely need hot glue to keep the car together. The kids had trouble getting the balloon tight enough with the rubber band to hold air. Not worth the money, I thought it would be an easy stem kit for my students to put together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great team building fun! My department had a blast with these! They got creative decorating their cars, and then we had our 1st ever department derby race. One trophy for the fastest car and one trophy for the car that went the farthest distance. Great team building fun!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool cars, my scouts loved them! The instructions are really bad so you kind of have to look at the picture online and then figure it out but they are cool cars once you get them put together (I would recommend hot glue if you have it). I traded out the straws in the balloon for big plastic (boba) straws (you could also use just regular thin plastic straws). I used plastic because the paper straws that come with the kit get kind of soggy after you've blown the balloon up a few times. The paper straws work fine for the wheels but not so great for the balloon part. My scouts loved these and had a great time with them! Great teaching moments with these cars. (what happens if you blow the balloon up less/more, what if you make the wheels wider/narrower, how does it affect how fast/far the car goes etc.) **when it says "cut the straw 3 inches long and adhere to the bottom of the car" you are cutting TWO 3 inch pieces and gluing both to the bottom of the car, one towards the front and one towards the back. This is what you will put the wooden sticks through. You then attach the wheels to the sticks, the straws allow the sticks/wheels to turn.

Questions & Answers

Can you buy an additional 1 or 2 car kits?

We have a troop of 11, I really hate to spend $30 and then 8 or 9 of the cars be stored away forever. Can you purchase singles of this too?
Asked by: ScoutLeader2
We apologize, unfortunately these are prepackaged. We are not able to break up those units for individual purchase.
