Big hit!
Had these at a back to school party and they were a big hit with all kids ages 2-12!

Popular project with the kids
I used this for kids ages 5 through 10. All ages enjoyed it and most kids were able to do it on their own, it didn't need a lot of hands-on help from the adults. The two minor complaints are that the product comes with 24 shapes but only 12 scratching tools. That was fine for me because I used the project to keep the kids busy as they came in in the morning, but if I had wanted to sit them all down at the same time, it would've been a problem. My other complaint was the that color underneath was a variety of colors, not a solid color. I would've liked to have black underneath. But this didn't bother the kids at all. I think a lot of them were happily surprised with the rainbow underneath.

A big hit
I purchased these scratch off apples as a children's activity at our Thanksgiving Day. All the grandkids from 2-8 enjoyed them. The 2 year old needed help as the scratch off stylist is pointed on one end. But everyone enjoyed it. I saw 2 hanging on their Christmas tree as decorations after Thanksgiving.

Disappointed
A number of the Apple scratchers were defective. The material that you’re supposed to be able to scratch off continued to adhere to the surface no matter how hard and insistently we scratched. In a few cases, the colorful surface underneath the scratch-off material tore. It was quite disappointing for my granddaughters and me

My Grandaughter lovedthe Easter eggs last yr, and wanted more
all the different shapes and different colors are a lot of fun for the kids. when several get together they like to see what the different designs they come up with I do like that some are hang ups, some magnates and so on . . I would like to see more complex ones come out. As they get older the girls need to do more planning or something more difficult.

Does something else work well for scratching? Toothpick?? Chopstick??

  • BEST ANSWER: Oh yeah chopstick is a good one, haven't thought of that. Have a contest with the kids before they get to do the scratch offs, see who can find the most useable things in the house or outdoors. anything with a sort of point. small stick, pointed rock, straw, fork, spoon, key ,pencil, coin, edge of card either post card, business card etc. if not heavy enough double up. The kids can dress up what ever they find to use.

Is there a way to get more of the scratcing tools?

  • BEST ANSWER: Don't know if you can order, but the more scratch offs you get , you save the little picks, or just find any thing from fingernails to toothpicks , pencils, unclicked pens ,spoon edge, letter opener. just about anything that comes to a small type of point. see how many your kids can come up with, do a house search, you could keep them busy for hours.
