Lettering is painted on, not etched into tags, but turned out nicely and lots less work than using my punch set to engrave into. Very nice.

Big hit !!
Had these dog tags made to put on Halloween gift bags. THEY WERE A BIG HIT!! I don't think they would be something you could use or wear everyday without them scratching but for what I used them for..... they were PERFECT. I LOVE ORIENTAL TRADING. Haven't gotten a bad deal or product yet :-)
