Fun but flimsy
The swords are super flimsy so no sword fights. The gems need two sided tape to stick to the sword. The paint pens don’t work very well, but we had gold and silver sharpies that worked great.

Disappointing
The swords themselves are fine but I ordered these as a fun craft for a child's birthday party but the jewels are not self adhesive. So they have to glue them on plus you get glitter glue instead of markers so you have to wait on everything to dry before the kids can play with them. That was difficult and by the time they are finally ready, they've lost interest.

Kids loved it for the idea. As a parent, definite flaws.
They were shaped cool and the kids (aged 2-4) really liked the idea of it, so they were not disappointed. But I think older kids would be. Basic problems were: 1) sword is awkward to hold by the handle because the shape loads all the weight to the front. The fulcrum is just in the wrong place. To comfortably play swordfighting, you really have to hold it in the middle. 2) I got lucky and decided that glitter glue was too complicated a project for the little ones, so I would do some designs the day before. The glitter glue took a full 24 hours to dry. Thank goodness I just happened to decide not to let the kids do it there, because they never would've gotten to play with it! 3) Little jewels, I thought, would be stickers. They were not. They'd have to be hot glued on. And the back-up stickers I bought did not stick.

great kid craft
Bought these for my 3 and 5 year old's birthday party. They and their friends loved it. However, I had to purchase more glitter pens, it only came with red and gold, and also the jewels didn't have adhesive on them to stick to the swords without the glitter pen glue. Still the foam was good quality and the kids really enjoyed them. Hit of the party!

  • BEST ANSWER: The gems are individually packaged. There are only 6 glue pens for the 12 swords though, 3 red 3 gold.
