VERY HARD FOR KIDS
I bought these mats for my kindergarten students and the weave pieces easily ripped and they were not durable enough to weave through the mat. The weave pieces would have been better if they were of thicker quality like the pumpkin base.

Very Poor Quality Control
I ordered 10 packages of 24 pumpkins for doing weaving. Only 3 of the packages acually had 24 pumpkins. One package had 27 pumpkins. The remaining packages had 16 to 20 pumpkins each. I was glad I opened the packages before our craft day.

On the fence about recommending this.
I bought these for a 3rd grade class project and was honestly a bit surprised by how many kids didn't know how to weave. They had fun doing it, but I would only recommend this activity if you have parent helpers to help the kids who aren't getting how to do it. Also, like previous reviewers, I recommend separating the pumpkins before you bring them to kids. They were really stuck together and it took awhile to separate them without tearing them.

Not for small Children
The mats are beautiful. I just wish they were larger. Too small for placemats and too thin for children to assemble. The stripes tear to easily. I plan to use them for place settings and decorations.

Cute, easy to make project
This craft was fun for the kids and easy for all ages. The strips are a bit fragile, but if you handle them carefully they hold up fine.
