Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Ornament Very cute ornament. The kids in my program loved the ornament.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Cute! I made about 20 of these for a homemade ornament exchange party. I made a few minor tweaks to make it look a bit nicer, such as replacing the pom pom nose with red sequin stone, and drilling a small hole in the back to hang it with an ornament hook. I beaded the hook with red and white beads to look like a candy cane. I also bought thinner/dressier ribbon for the neck bow. It takes a bit of coordination to get all of the tiny pieces correctly glued/placed for the face, but the rest of it goes together easily. I had to use wood glue for the ears, and I used a hot glue gun for the rest of the pieces. There are a lot of ways that you could dress these up, and turn them into cute gifts. I might make more next year, and thread tiny jingle bells down the sides like a reindeer harness. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. A few of the pieces were broken and unusable, but I had more than enough parts to complete my project between 2 kits. For the price, you can't really expect perfection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for 6-9 year olds - ornaments turned out beautifully! I bought these kits for a group of 6-9 year old kids. The kids loved the craft, and the result was a beautiful ornament for everyone to take home. All 24 of the kits I purchased were complete. We used tacky glue. We glued the bells to the bow ties and the faces first. Next I had them glue the clothespin bodies and antlers and the ribbon. From there we took a little break and did another craft. After 15 minutes, the bells and faces were dry enough to attach to the bodies. The whole ornament was dry in about 2 hours. I would do this again next year!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Missing pieces The kit is missing one of two "eyes" which you are used to glue to the face. I used a hot glue gun successfully. Other glues will probably not work because of the odd surfaces of the clothes pins.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cute, but not simple. A lot of gluing required. (We used glue dots.) The pieces needed a lot of fiddling. (Was only 1 reindeer eye per bag, which upset the kids because the picture showed 2.) Difficult for "perfectionist" kids because it was hard to make it look like the picture (and stand up).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best The reindeer came with only one eye per each kit. I had to go out and purchase more eyes. also, some of the clothespins were in terrible condition.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super cute ornament I purchased this item for a class party in a few weeks. Though the class party has not taken place but I have already made a few on my own to see the difficulty of this craft. First, if you are planning to do this in large setting with kids, I will recommend using fast drying tacky glue. I will also recommend that you pre-glue the foam green bow and jingle bell because you need to assemble all the other pieces before you can glue these 2 pieces in it's place and even with fast drying tacking glue, you cannot position the ornament upright facing up to keep them in place. Also, I don't think you have to glue the clips together but it's up to you of course.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from disappointed. Not self adhesive I bought these as an activity for kids to do while the adults talked. Very Disappointing. These are not selfadhesive. The finish makes it impossible to use Elmer's glue. I had to use hot glue gun. Totally defeated the purpose of the kids craft as I had to stand there hovered over the glue gun, keeping little fingers from being burned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small parts involved but fun! I work in a dialysis clinic and had my patients make these. I have patients aging in range from 20s to 80s and they all had fun!

Did anyone have luck with a glue other than hot glue?

Did anyone have luck with a glue other than hot glue?
Asked by: Mghmcdon
I have tried it with normal Tacky glue and it works fine. It does take a little patience and time to keep everything in place. I know they make fast drying Tacky glue and I think it will make it easier to make. Using tacky glue is more managing for kids to make the craft.
