How long is the rope?

The ends of the rope had tape on them. I took it off thinking I should so the kids could grab it easier. Should it have stayed on? It frayed the first day and I think it may have been my fault for taking it off

BEST ANSWER: The tape has to stay on otherwise the rope will only last a week. I purchased one and in a week it poppoed. I realize this rope is only durable for very young children.
Does it come in a longer size?

BEST ANSWER: I don't believe so, but for 3-4 kids on either end it was sufficient.
