Hilarious fun! Let the kids (and maybe Grandpa and Grandma too!) have a blast figuring out what colors and how to roll, tie, scrunch...whatever! These smiles say it all. Be sure and wear the gloves and wear something that you don’t mind a little dye on!

Good quality, easy set up!
This was a great kit for an introductory tie dye craft for adults or kids! It included everything you need to make the tie dyed items plus clear directions and photographs and directions for specific patterns. What the online description doesn’t do a good job of is telling you that this kit is designed for 6 people. It can certainly be used for more people but in the kit you will receive six pairs of gloves and 18 bottles filled with different color dye powder. There are multiple shades of reds, pinks, blues, greens. It is created that each person receives three colored dye bottles therefore every person would receive a pair of gloves choose three bottles of dye and then uses those three bottles to make their projects. Depending on the size of the project will decide how many items they will have enough dye for. I found 3 bottles of dye made approximately 2 adult shirts or 4 smaller projects such as tea towels/bandanas or small kids shirts. It also greatly depends on the pattern that the person chooses- some patterns with a a white background require very little dye other patterns where the entire item is being saturated in color will take almost a full bottle. The instructions on this kit also state that the dye will begin to lose vibrancy in 45 minutes. If you purchase the larger Tulip bottle kits that come with only five bottles, that dye lasts for up to 72 hours. So just be aware do not add water until you are ready to begin dying. I had a neighborhood block party for 13 children and then had six adults also participate dying tea towels. I had 15 projects completed and we still had dye leftover- granted these were children shirts and tea towels, not large projects. I created a clean table station for everyone to fold and rubber band their projects before we started dying. I had a separate station that was laid out for dying only so that no one got die on their T-shirts before they started and also this insured that we could all die quickly and have the most vibrant colors with the dye full strength. Plastic wrap is the best thing to wrap the item after it’s dyed and then place that inside a plastic grocery bag and tie. Leave for at least eight hours. I left ours overnight then rinse it out and then as the directions state use scissors to cut the rubber bands off the project. This is an important step because if you try to reuse your rubber bands later you’ll end up folding your project in half or having the colors touch one another as you’re trying to untangle the rubber bands and this will muffle your colors and they will run together. Just cut them off and buy yourself new rubber bands for another project. Overall, this is a fun kit for multiple people because of all the supplies and tote it comes with. If you have a few participants over the course of a day- buy the 5 bottle Tulip kit- it’s a better value for the amount of dye you receive. And note- all the gloves that come in any kit are huge- for children pick up a pack of latex gloves at the $tree store- 8/$1. They are smaller and easier for kids to use. Have fun- we did!
