Chalkboard not real I am a teacher and these were purchased for letter writing practice. I was disappointed that they were not real and it leaves the writing on the chalkboard when erased. I can use them but I will need to give each student a wet cloth to erase the lettering. I can not recommend this product to anyone else. Sorry. August 24, 2010

FAKE these are fake chalkboards. The previous review that state they leave indentations is correct and in no way does the chalk write on the board. My 4 grandkids do not even touch them. October 22, 2009

Not a real chalkboard This is a good price, but it's not a real slate chalkboard. It's more like a thin sheet of pressboard with a shiny black coating on top. Chalk does write on it, but not with the same results as a real chalkboard. Also, when you erase, it leaves a type of indentation mark. Children probably won't mind, but it would have been nice to know that this wasn't a "real" chalkboard before I purchased it. If you want a real slate chalkboard, look somewhere else. Not what they seem They appeared to be green on the website... they when they arrived they were black. Very disappointed! February 3, 2009
