Cute Craft
I bought this for my Daisy girl scout troop. The key chains turned out very cute and were easiest enough for the 5-6 year olds to do.

Cute but not worth the Hassle
I bought 24 of these for my Daisy Girl Scout Troop. I did not try one ahead of time. I wish I had. I probably would have returned this item and found something else.
The "our" bead and the 'planet' bead do not have a hole big enough to fit both ends of the string through. Yes, we used a paperclip to push the string through so it worked in the end but it was a major hassle and NOT something our 6 yr olds could do by themselves. I am surprised anyone has given this a rating higher than 1 star.

Teaches the message
The "Our" and "World" bead hole diameters need to match those of the letters. I used a blunt #16 tapestry needle and some pliers to get the string through those beads. I bought these to teach caring for our envrionment. I am encouraging the girls I lead to put these on their daypacks to remind them to LEAVE NO TRACE.

disappointing project
I also got the beads with a hole too small to string. Didn't realize this until the night before I planned to use it. Very disappointed!

Cute Trinkets
The key chains were cute and easy to do. I ordered 60 and only had 1 bag missing parts. Even though the hole looked too small for the thread, I used a paper clip and it worked great. I bought it for my office for Earth Day.

JUNK!
Based on the glowing reviews, I purchased these for Earth Day for the Kindergarten Class that I've adopted. Tonight I wanted to make sure that the project was easy enough for 6-yr. olds and so I attempted to assemble one of them.
I don't know what beads the reviewers above received, but I ordered 24 packages and ALL of the Earth wooden beads AND the "our" beads were drilled so poorly that I couldn't even get the threads through!
Right now, I am in the process of trying to manually enlarge the holes just to get the cords through. It isn't going so well. I doubt very seriously that these keychains will be able to be assembled.
I buy Oriental Trading products ALL the time for this class. I am bitterly disappointed in this project however. Not only did I throw my money away, but now I am left scrambling for another project for them!

Good earth craft
This is a simple project that just about any age can do. Most of the beads are printed very well ( I ordered 6 dozen) only a few have the earth a little light or off centered.
If you follow the directions and knot the end after the last bead, all your beads will fall off- unless you make a jumbo knot! I suggest taking the cording back up around the last bead and then down through it again. Then make the knot. If you think ahead you can even do that to the first green bead so the top and the bottom are the same. A little dab of glue goes a long way in keeping the end knotted.
This project is a good time filler and only takes a few minutes. Because of that, I'm using it with the "All about being green" posters.
Kids love things to hang off their back packs and this one hits the spot!
