Rather Good Geodes!
I am a Den Leader for a Webelos den. We were working on our activity pin for Science, and I needed to show how crystals are formed. These were perfect! I was surprised that for the price these geodes were really nice! They were a good size, cracked rather easily (w/ the help of an adult), and all were very pretty. Out of 12 we only had 3 that had any real crystals, but the boys thought the geodes were amazing anyway and were really excited to see what "surprise" would be inside. For the price you can not beat these geodes! I have bought them at other sites for TWICE the money and they were smaller and NO crystals at all. For the price these are a really, really good deal! I will buy more for stocking stuffers for the kids... and dare I say some adults! Fun item!

Fun for Kids
I am a first grade teacher and for Open House we learn about a mountain and all it's parts, some of it's animals, etc. During our Open House the children get to go to mountain centers and collect one thing from each area they learned about. The Break Your Own Geodes are the thing they can collect in the Rocky Tundra. We put one in a baggy and staple directions to the front. The children take them home and break them open with their families to find their "surprise" inside. Every year they are a big "hit" with the children and their parents. We have been doing this for at least 6 years and we get good reviews every year! I highly recommend these and hope Oriental Trading continues to carry them for years to come.

Break your own geodes
I bought these geodes as a gift to my students after reading a selection on geodes. The ad said the geodes would be between 1-2 inches. When they finally arrived, out of 27 (3 packs of 9), their were only 6 geodes that were one inch or more. The largest was only 1 and a half inches. None were 2 inches and most were between one half inch to three quarters of an inch they wer too small to give to my students. I couldn't give larger geodes to only 6 students. I had to purchase from another company.

A big hit!
I teach the youth at church and used these as part of a lesson. I broke one open at the end and it was perfect! The class completely got the point of the object lesson and were so excited they got to keep one. Clear directions on how to use them, excellent quality. Thank you!

Great Value
Out of the dozen I got, one arrived already cracked (probably a shipping issue) but it was sort of cool to have one I could see right away. They do tend to shatter, so putting them in a sock or wrapping them in a washcloth helps keep the pieces together. I had one about 2 inches in diameter, another that was actually two grown together, and the rest were about 1~1.5 inches in diameter. Very fun stocking stuffers!

Just rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These were all just rocks. When we opened the first one it was very disappointing. The kids were very sad and disappointed too. No geodes were in this pack. Be prepared if you purchase these and tell your kids there could be no geodes. They all might just be rocks. Don't buy these!

Don't waste your money
I was not impressed with this product at all!!!The size of the geodes are pretty small. The sizes of the geodes ranged from about a dime size in diameter but none were larger than a quarter.

Not That Great
They were a lot smaller than expected for the price and looked rather beat up. Even for rocks.

Smaller than expected, but kids loved them!
These rocks were smaller than expected. Three of the rocks were larger, and the rest were small. Some were very hard for the kids to break open. Each rock had their own type of crystal inside, one had a very pretty purple. Overall, the kids loved them.

smaller than expected & some break in shipping
i was impressed with price but did not expect the size to be small (smaller than a golf ball and some as small a gumball. ) and some would break in shipping. i was disappointed but think they will still work for my treasure hunt.
