Sturdy little ducks for lots of Math activities
I teach Math to small groups of students in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. I have used these little ducks for lots of activities.
The ducks are numbered from 1 to 100. They can be used to sequence from 1 to 100, or for any groups of numbers that children need practice with (20 to 40, 80 to 100, etc.) I also grouped the ducks by color and gave a bag to each student. They had to put the numbers in order, without having the missing numbers available. . For example, one bag might contain 12, 26, 31, 17, 58, 71, 93 and 62. I asked students to put them in the correct sequence, from smallest to largest. We talked about how the number in the tens place helped them to determine the order of numbers. If the number had the same digit in the tens place, then they would use the number in the ones place. Later I had them put them in correct backwards sequence, from largest to smallest.
There are tons of activities that you can do with these ducks. They are sturdy, colorful, and are ready to go, because you don't have to punch out the pieces. My students enjoy using them, and they're really cute!
Highly recommended.
