Great for a Rapunzel/Tangled party
Throwing a Rapunzel/Tangled party for my 4 year old daughter's Bday party & I saw this idea on line to have kids paint lanterns with water colors to replicate the ones Rapunzel sees each year on her birthday. This was perfect craft to the give out as favors & I set up tables for the kids to paint them @ the party. Suggestion though... ONLY use water colors/paint with thin brushes or they will tear or the thick paint will make the lantern into a soggy paper towel & rip. Knowing this ahead of time was a plus! & you couldn't beat the price. another suggestion; I picked up some glow bracelets from OTC & they slid in perfectly into the lantern to make them glow.

A Real Hit
These paper lanterns were real hit with the kids. Sturdy enough for them to draw and color using markers. One negative is that assembly was extremely difficult. We tore through at least three lanterns out of the 24 we got.

winniest project
This was the highlight of 12th birthday party. Each guest decorated them with glitter glue holding up candies//stickers//and whatever they wanted after they dried we hung them all up. I also added Christmas lights on these so they would light up the night.
awesome purchase. Needed to order more to share.

Missing parts
I bought these to take to my daughter's preschool for lunar new year. Thankfully I decided to assemble the lanterns in advance and discovered that one package was missing 4 of the metal frame inserts and the other was missing 2. Oriental Trading is sending replacements and thankfully we have enough time for that. If you are ordering close to your event date, I'd definitely suggest ordering extras just in case. Otherwise, though, I'm very happy with the purchase.

small but fun
My son and I painted these and hung them up for his birthday party instead of using balloons. They looked great but are a bit small. I wanted to make something we can use again and again but I'm not sure they will make it for more than a few years because the paper is thin. We did have fun with them this year.

No handles included
Very cute for Tangled themed party. We didn't even paint them, hung them across a clothes line with paperclips. My nephews colored on some with marker. Held up nice.
